Drone Station is a practice space for guitarists.

Choose any of the 12 key centres and play against either a Hammond B3 organ drone, or an evolving string dyad in major or minor. Add minimalist rhythm at 60, 80, 100 or 120 BPM in 4/4 or 6/8 to build a steady musical environment to practice in.

Rather than memorising licks and scales, Drone Station lets you develop your ear from the inside out. Explore melody, phrasing, intonation and timing against a stable tonal centre, strengthening your sense of pitch, tension and release, musical flow, and audiation — the ability to hear music internally before you play it.

Whether you're working on intonation, improvisation, patterns, or just exploring musical ideas, the drone gives you a spacious canvas for deeper listening and more expressive playing.

Drone Station is the first of three apps that will merge to form a unified system. Triads will map out the fretboard in Open D, and Loop Station will naturally extend these drones by moving through chord progressions. Early adopters of Drone Station will get coupons for both apps when they drop.
